Clois Powell, born in Oklahoma on December 9, 1911. Passed from this world May 15, 1993.  He was 81.

Clois Powell had an absolutely crystal clear concept of who he was and what he knew about Geometry.  He was entirely without guile and generous with his praise for the hapless soul who dared to attempt to solve the problem without having completed the previous night's assigned homework.  Mr. Powell would sort of half-smile and say, "Well, that's a fine guess - but does anyone want to Help this poor lost lamb find his way home?"  The day that he jumped up at the Noon pep rally before the Big Game with Rancho to lead a cheer from His college days (in his college beanie) - I thought I'd never seen  Anything as Honest and Original and purely Funny as that.  And the best part was, that everyone could see that he knew exactly how funny we all thought he was.  But he knew - its almost as if he was saying to himself - "One day, each and every one of you will be in the same place as I am now - I Hope you're as prepared to enjoy it as I am."wh
