Phil was always one of the most together people I knew. He played music all of his life and dedicated his life to his autistic son, Anthony. Phil raised Anthony by himself until the time of his passing. He had a great sense of humor and will be missed.
Phil was one of the greatest guys you could ever hope to know. He, Don Lewis and I played music together for years and Phil wrote some terrific music. I will miss him GC

Phil was one of my best friends in high school. Some of the best times I had then were with him. He was a great musician, and he would play the harmonica while we walked down the street. We went to see the Doors together at the old Long Beach Municipal Auditorium, where they debued their Morrison Hotel Album. The tickets were $6.50, and I thought that was a lot of money then. I remember Pat Mullady's older brother drove us all down there. Phil was a bright guy. He knew about a lot of things. I remember many times we would laugh hard at so many absurd and funny things. He had a great sense of humor and was one of the most polite and caring persons I've ever known. I remember his blue dodge panel wagon, with the right hand steering set up for postal delivery. Phil had a lot of friends and was very well liked. I'm very surprised and saddened to hear about his passing. I will be thinking about him and the good times we had together.
