Kristi (Baessler) Hansel, resident of Orange, California, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2014 after a prolonged battle with liver failure while awaiting a transplant.
Kristi was born on September 7, 1953 in Los Angeles, California to Donald Baessler and Dorotha Marie Baessler. She graduated from Garden Grove High School in 1971 where she was a member of the cheerleading squad. Kristi loved adventure and travel and lived in various places such as Texas, Northern California, Alabama and Hawaii, before making a life for herself and her family in Orange.
Kristi was a pure soul who loved her friends and family. She loved being creative and was known for her great sense of humor.
She is survived by her father, Donald Baessler and step-mother, Gayle Baessler; her sons, Matthew Goetz and Kevin Calles; grandchildren, Sunny and Nolan Goetz; sisters, Debbie Baessler, Tracey Pfeiffer; and brother, Neal Baessler; as well as their spouses, nieces and nephews.
Kristi is preceded in death by her grandparents; her mother, Dorotha Baessler; and her beloved son, Jacob Goetz.
A celebration of life will be held in January 2015 and will be announced through social media and phone calls.
Also, in memory of Kristi, the family would like to thank the medical staff and liver transplant team at Cedar Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles.
