Bob was such caring person who was wonderful to me when Gary died last April. His concern and e-mails were so uplifting and positive. His e-mails were a light in my life. Bob was gifted with a photographic memory and remembered so many people and incidents from our elementary school, Crosby, and our junior high at Walton and of course all of the people we knew from Garden Grove High. I enjoyed all of his stories of former classmates. Bob helped to supported the VFW in Kona. Every month he would buy them any supplies they needed to feed the veterans. Bob always wanted to move to Hawaii and he bought a house there two years ago. He surfed almost everyday. He was a good neighbor and when he died several people told his brother how special they thought Bob was. Bob will be missed.  C C-B

Bob Beckman (1969)

Good ol' Bob Lyon.  I never knew him in high school, but became close to him in 2009 through this web site.  We talked on the phone nearly every day over the past 2 years...until early February.  I called and left him messages without a response.  I just e-mailed Bob a birthday wish this past week.  I didn't find out about Bob's passing until today, March 20.  It was quite the shock.

I'm hoping someone out there knows brother John's address so I can send a sympathy card.  Also, Rosemary, if you're reading this please contact me so we can share some good memories.

To Bob Lyon, I will miss you and wish you the best in heaven.  I thought you had gone into hermit mode, and I'm sorry to learn you are gone.  We will meet again.

It's so sad to hear of Bob's passing.  Bob was full of fun and, oh the stories!  He remembered every detail.  We will miss the stories, and the Christmas gift of Kona coffee, with the beautiful Hawaiian cards.  He found his Paradise in Hawaii, and I know he's riding the biggest, best formed waves in Heaven.
