Survived By: Wife, Ruth Coffin, daughter Shelby and step son Adam. Daughter by 1st marriage with Jackie, is Shana Olson. 7 grandchildren.
Gary worked for Power & Water company of McPherson, KS. He was ready to retire when he found out he had a bad heart. Gary wouldn't take the heart transplant because he thought he lived a long and fullfilling life that it should go to someone younger and needs it more. He said, he was born with this heart and he will go with heart, which was very loving and giving. He only lived three more months. Gary always took good care of his family and friends and he had so many at his funeral. He will be very much missed by all that knew him. His favorite pass time was fishing or waterskiing, he loved being out on the lake in his boat. His family is still in KS.

Gary and I were best friends our first 3 years @ GGHS. I have fond memories of spending the nite at the Coffins house and Lord did we have a lotta fun. Dale and Mike and Carolyn seemed like my own bros and sis's back in those formative years. Gary, I loved you then and I love ya now...RIP...seeya in heaven "Mumbles":)
